1. Introduction
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the FarFrom website, platform, and related services (collectively, the "Platform"). By creating an account, accessing or browsing the Platform, or using any of our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not use the Platform.
2. Definitions
In these Terms:
- "Host" means a user who creates a Listing offering accommodation via the Platform.
- "Volunteer" (or "Traveller") means a user who applies to or participates in a Placement via the Platform.
- "Placement" means a private arrangement between a Host and a Volunteer involving accommodation and voluntary activities, agreed directly between those users.
- "Listing" means a Host-created profile published on the Platform describing an accommodation offering.
- "Platform" means the FarFrom website, applications, and related digital services operated by FarFrom Travel Ltd.
- "Services" means the Platform functionality made available by FarFrom, including account access, listings, messaging, booking tools, and reviews.
- "Content" means any text, images, messages, reviews, or other material uploaded, submitted, or displayed on the Platform by users or by FarFrom.
3. What FarFrom is and how the platform works
3.1 FarFrom's role
FarFrom operates an online digital platform that enables Hosts and Volunteers to discover each other and communicate for the purpose of voluntary work-for-accommodation exchanges. FarFrom provides digital tools and features such as listings, profiles, messaging, booking functionality, and reviews to support transparent, informed connections between users.
FarFrom acts solely as an intermediary platform provider. Any placement, stay, or exchange arranged through the Platform ("Placement") is a private arrangement entered into directly between the Host and the Volunteer involved. FarFrom is not a party to any Placement.
3.2 What FarFrom does and does not do
FarFrom's role is limited to operating and maintaining the Platform and providing access to its features. FarFrom does not:
- provide or arrange accommodation, transport, or travel services
- employ, engage, or supply Hosts or Volunteers
- supervise, manage, direct, or control tasks, activities, or Placements
- inspect properties or accommodation, or assess living conditions or safety standards
- guarantee the accuracy, legality, safety, or suitability of any Listing, user, or Placement
Any guidance, information, or automated suggestions made available on the Platform are provided for general informational purposes only and do not constitute legal, safety, immigration, or professional advice.
3.3 Legal responsibility of users
While FarFrom may carry out limited checks or reviews of information submitted to the Platform for completeness, clarity, or misuse, FarFrom does not independently verify, monitor, or guarantee that Hosts or Volunteers comply with applicable laws, regulations, or safety obligations.
Hosts and Volunteers are each responsible for ensuring that their use of the Platform and any Placement they enter into complies with all applicable laws and requirements, including those relating to accommodation, immigration, employment status, health and safety, taxation, and local regulatory obligations.
FarFrom does not confirm whether a Host has the legal right to offer accommodation or whether a Volunteer has the legal right to participate in voluntary activities in any location. Users make decisions to use the Platform and to enter into Placements at their own discretion, based on the information available to them.
3.4 Restricted accounts
FarFrom may suspend or restrict access to accounts, Listings, or Platform features where we reasonably believe there may be safety issues, legal compliance concerns, fraudulent activity, or a breach of these Terms. We may request additional information or documentation from users to support ongoing compliance and safety.
3.5 Employment status
Nothing in these Terms creates an employment, worker, or agency relationship between FarFrom and any user, or between Hosts and Volunteers. Volunteers participate on a voluntary, non-employment basis.
FarFrom does not direct, supervise, or control the manner or timing of any activities undertaken as part of a Placement.
4. Relationship between users
Any placement, stay, or exchange of accommodation for voluntary help arranged through the Platform ("Placement") is a private arrangement between the Host and the Volunteer involved.
FarFrom is not a party to any Placement and does not draft, negotiate, supervise, manage, or enforce the terms of any Placement.
Hosts and Volunteers are solely responsible for agreeing and complying with the terms of their Placement, including expectations relating to tasks, hours, duration, accommodation, house rules, and conduct.
FarFrom operates solely as an online marketplace platform provider, offering digital infrastructure that enables independent Hosts and Volunteers to discover each other and communicate directly. FarFrom does not act as an agent, representative, partner, employer, or organiser of any user, and no user has authority to bind FarFrom or act on its behalf.
Any dispute, claim, or issue arising out of or in connection with a Placement is primarily a matter between the Host and the Volunteer.
5. Eligibility
By using the Platform, you represent and warrant that:
- You are at least 18 years old.
- You are using the Platform for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
- All information you provide is true, accurate, and complete, and you will update it as necessary.
- You are not prohibited from using the Platform under applicable laws, including sanctions, export control, or local regulations.
FarFrom may refuse access to the Platform, suspend, or close any account where we reasonably believe these conditions are not met.
6. Using the platform
6.1 Acceptable use of the platform
You agree to use the Platform only for its intended purpose and in accordance with these Terms and applicable laws.
When using the Platform, you must:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete account information and keep it updated
- Keep your login details secure and do not allow unauthorised access to your account
- Use Platform messaging and tools in good faith and not for spam, harassment, or deceptive activity
- Make your own independent decisions when interacting with other users
FarFrom may modify, suspend, or restrict access to parts of the Platform for maintenance, security, or operational reasons. Availability of the Platform is not guaranteed.
6.2 No guarantee of matching or availability
FarFrom provides tools to enable Hosts and Volunteers to discover and communicate with each other, but does not guarantee that any user will find a suitable match, receive applications, be accepted for a Placement, or secure accommodation.
Availability of Hosts, Volunteers, Listings, and dates varies, and is outside Far From's control. FarFrom is not responsible for any loss, inconvenience, or disappointment resulting from the absence of matches, unavailability, or a user's failure to respond, accept, or complete a Placement.
6.3 Automated suggestions and automated tools
The Platform may use automated systems, including search, ranking, or recommendation tools, to surface Listings or users that may be relevant based on the information provided.
Any automated suggestions or recommendations are provided for informational purposes only and do not constitute endorsement, verification, or assessment by FarFrom. FarFrom does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of any automated output.
Users remain solely responsible for evaluating the suitability of any Listing, user, or Placement before proceeding.
6.4 Verification and eligibility requirements
FarFrom may require users to complete verification processes or meet eligibility criteria to access certain features, areas, or functionality of the Platform. Access to features may vary based on account status or compliance with Platform requirements. Completion of such steps is at FarFrom's discretion and may be required to protect platform integrity.
6.5 Platform communications
Messages sent through the Platform are transmitted and stored by FarFrom. FarFrom may access and review Platform communications where reasonably necessary for purposes such as operating the Platform, investigating reports or complaints, ensuring compliance with these Terms, preventing misuse, or meeting legal or regulatory obligations.
FarFrom does not routinely monitor messages, and access is limited to authorised personnel. Message handling and retention are governed by our Privacy Policy.
7. Platform integrity and acceptable use
Users must not misuse the Platform or interfere with its normal operation. In particular, users must not:
- Attempt to access the Platform without authorisation or bypass security measures
- Scrape, copy, or harvest Platform data using automated tools without permission
- Manipulate search results, listings, or reviews
- Create multiple accounts or provide false information to evade enforcement
- Attempt to circumvent subscription or booking fees
FarFrom may suspend, restrict, or remove accounts, Listings, Content, or access to the Platform where reasonably necessary to protect platform integrity, security, legal compliance, or user trust. FarFrom is not obliged to provide advance notice or detailed reasons for such action.
8. Payments, fees and platform access
FarFrom charges fees for access to and use of certain Platform features. These fees relate solely to the provision of Platform services and do not guarantee any specific outcome, match, or Placement.
8.1 Host subscriptions
Hosts may be required to purchase a subscription to create Listings and access hosting features on the Platform. Subscription details, including pricing, duration, and included features, will be clearly displayed before purchase.
Subscriptions may auto-renew unless cancelled in advance. Where auto-renewal applies, FarFrom will clearly disclose renewal terms and, where required by law, provide a reminder before renewal.
Hosts may cancel future renewals through their account settings. Cancellation does not entitle a Host to a refund for any subscription period already started, except where required by law.
8.2 One-off fees
Volunteers may be required to pay a one-off fee to access certain Platform features, such as submitting or confirming a booking request. Any applicable fee will be clearly displayed before payment is taken.
One-off fees are charged for Platform access and services only and do not guarantee acceptance by a Host, completion of a Placement, or satisfaction with any experience.
8.3 Refunds
Host subscription fees may be refunded if a Host contacts FarFrom within 7 days of the initial payment to cancel their subscription. After this period, subscription fees are non-refundable, except where required by applicable law.
Volunteer fees are charged at the point a Volunteer confirms a Placement and unlocks access to Host contact details and booking functionality. Because these Platform services are provided immediately upon payment, Volunteer fees are non-refundable once paid, except where a refund is required by applicable law.
FarFrom does not offer refunds based on the outcome, duration, or satisfaction of any Placement, including where a Placement is cancelled, shortened, declined, or does not proceed as expected.
8.4 Fee circumvention
Users must not attempt to bypass or avoid Platform fees, including by arranging Placements outside the Platform after being introduced through Far From. Deliberate circumvention of fees may result in account suspension or termination.
9. User-generated content
The Platform allows users to submit content, including Listings, profile information, photos, messages, and reviews ("Content"). Users retain ownership of their Content.
By submitting Content to the Platform, you grant FarFrom a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, display, adapt, and format that Content for the purpose of operating, improving, and promoting the Platform.
You are solely responsible for the Content you submit and confirm that you have the right to share it. Content must not be misleading, unlawful, defamatory, or infringe the rights of others.
FarFrom does not verify or endorse user-generated Content and does not guarantee its accuracy, completeness, or legality. You rely on Content at your own risk.
FarFrom may remove, restrict, or moderate Content where reasonably necessary to protect platform integrity, comply with legal obligations, or address misuse of the Platform.
10. Safety and risk disclaimer
Use of the Platform and participation in any Placement is undertaken at your own risk. FarFrom does not inspect accommodation, supervise activities, or control interactions between users.
FarFrom does not guarantee the safety, suitability, legality, or quality of any Listing, accommodation, task, or user conduct. Any Placement is a private arrangement between users, and FarFrom is not responsible for events or outcomes arising from such arrangements.
The Platform may include information, guidance, or automated suggestions for general informational purposes only. Nothing on the Platform constitutes legal, medical, safety, immigration, or professional advice.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, users assume all risks associated with their participation on the Platform and release FarFrom from liability arising from interactions with other users or participation in any Placement.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless FarFrom Travel Ltd, its directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and reasonable legal expenses arising from:
- your breach of these Terms;
- your misuse of the Platform;
- your violation of applicable law or the rights of any third party; or
- any claim brought by another user or third party arising from your actions, Content, or participation in a Placement.
This indemnity applies only to the extent that the claim or loss results from your acts or omissions and continues after your use of the Platform ends.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, FarFrom is not liable for any loss, damage, injury, or harm arising from or in connection with:
- Interactions or arrangements between users
- Any Placement, including its cancellation, early termination, or outcome
- Reliance on Listings, reviews, or other user-generated Content
- Events or circumstances outside FarFrom's reasonable control.
FarFrom does not supervise, inspect, or control accommodation, activities, or user conduct and is not responsible for acts or omissions of Hosts, Volunteers, or third parties.
Subject to the paragraph below, FarFrom's total liability to you for any claim arising out of or in connection with the Platform or these Terms is limited to the total fees paid by you to FarFrom in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation.
13. Third-party services
The Platform may integrate with or make use of third-party services, such as payment processors, identity verification providers, communication tools, analytics services, or hosting infrastructure.
Your use of third-party services may be subject to the terms and policies of those third parties. FarFrom does not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for the acts, omissions, availability, or performance of any third-party service.
FarFrom is not liable for any loss or issue arising from your use of third-party services, except where required by applicable law.
14. Account security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
You must take reasonable steps to protect your login details and notify FarFrom promptly if you suspect unauthorised access or misuse of your account.
FarFrom is not responsible for losses arising from unauthorised account access where you have failed to take reasonable steps to protect your credentials.
FarFrom may suspend or restrict access to an account where we reasonably believe it has been compromised or misused.
15. Reporting issues and complaints
If you encounter an issue relating to misuse of the Platform or another user's conduct on the Platform, you must report it to FarFrom by contacting us.
FarFrom may review reports and take action on the Platform where we reasonably consider it necessary to protect platform integrity, user trust, or legal compliance. Any such action is at FarFrom's discretion.
FarFrom does not provide mediation, arbitration, or dispute resolution services between users and does not guarantee any particular outcome in response to a report. Disputes arising from Placements are primarily matters between the users involved.
For urgent safety concerns or emergencies, users should contact local emergency services or relevant authorities directly.
16. Intellectual property
All intellectual property rights in and to the Platform, including the FarFrom name, logos, branding, design, text, graphics, and underlying software, are owned by or licensed to Far From Travel Ltd.
Subject to these Terms, FarFrom grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the Platform for its intended purpose.
You must not copy, modify, distribute, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works from any part of the Platform, nor use FarFrom's branding or intellectual property for commercial purposes, without prior written consent.
Ownership of user-generated Content is addressed separately in Section 9.
17. Geographic restrictions
FarFrom may restrict or limit access to the Platform in certain countries or regions where use of the Platform may present legal, regulatory, or operational risks.
Such restrictions may be applied based on location, activity, or other risk factors. FarFrom does not guarantee that the Platform is appropriate or available for use in all jurisdictions, and users are responsible for ensuring that their use of the Platform complies with applicable local laws.
18. Force majeure
FarFrom is not liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations under these Terms where such failure or delay results from events beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, public health emergencies, government actions, changes in law or regulation, power or internet outages, failures of third-party services, or other similar events.
19. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also rely on any mandatory consumer protection laws that apply in your country of residence, and nothing in these Terms limits your right to bring proceedings in the courts of that country.
20. Entire agreement
These Terms, together with any documents expressly referred to in them (including the Privacy Policy and any applicable Host or Volunteer agreements), constitute the entire agreement between you and FarFrom regarding your use of the Platform and supersede all prior discussions or agreements relating to that subject matter.
Where there is any conflict between these Platform Terms and a Host Agreement or Volunteer Agreement, the relevant Host or Volunteer Agreement shall prevail in respect of that user's role.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision shall be deemed severed and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
21. No waiver
If FarFrom does not enforce any provision of these Terms, this does not constitute a waiver of that provision or of the right to enforce it at a later time. Any waiver must be given in writing to be effective.
22. Changes to these terms
FarFrom may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the Platform, legal requirements, or business practices.
Updated Terms will be posted on the Platform with the revised "Last updated" date. Where changes are material, FarFrom may also provide additional notice.
Your continued use of the Platform after updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Money Back Guarantee T&C's
Early-adopter offer running 9th October 2025 to 6th January 2026
1. Eligibility
This Money-Back Guarantee applies only to hosts who purchased an annual subscription between the 9th October 2025 to 6th January 2026.
To qualify, hosts must:
- Meet Far From's hosting criteria, including providing private accommodation for volunteers (shared rooms or spaces are not eligible).
- Have successfully passed the host vetting and verification process prior to the launch of traveller bookings.
- Have not had any volunteer applications received through the Far From platform during the guarantee period (January 2026 – December 2026).
2. Claim Window
Refund applications must be submitted between 1 January 2027 and 31 January 2027 ("the Claim Window"). Requests received outside this Claim Window will not be considered.
3. Application Process
Hosts must submit their refund request to our designated email address.
Far From may require verification of:
- Host listing activity and accommodation details; and
- Evidence that no volunteer applications were received during the subscription period.
4. Refund Method
Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method used for the subscription purchase. The refund covers only the subscription fee paid by the customer. Any other fees or optional add-ons are non-refundable.
5. Exclusions
Refunds will not be granted if:
- The host has received at least one volunteer application (regardless of whether accepted or declined).
- The host does not meet Far From's hosting criteria.
- The host has not completed or has failed the verification process.
- The host account is suspended or terminated for breaching Far From's Host Code of Conduct.
- More than one refund request is submitted per host account.
- The subscription was purchased outside of the early-adopter offer window.
- The claim was submitted outside of the claim offer window.
6. Company Status
This guarantee is valid only while Far From remains an active trading entity. If Far From ceases trading, the Money-Back Guarantee becomes void.
7. General
Far From reserves the right to amend or withdraw this Money-Back Guarantee for future subscriptions. Any amendments will not affect hosts who purchased under these terms.
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
