Medieval Tudor manor in the Lake District, near Ullswater lake Key info: * 2-3hrs per day, 2 days off per week (unless housesitting) * Volunteers stay in a private cottage (self-catered) * Dog sitting, general groundskeeping and gardening, and help with the pigs! * Cumbria, UK (Near Penrith) * Volunteers would need their own car to get around as we're not close to a bus stop/ train station. We are Henry and Anna, we live in a small Tudor manor house built onto a 14th-century pele tower on the edge of the Lake District. We live here with our two teenage children, our dog Styx and a number of free-range pigs and chickens. We have two holiday lets and also host bed and breakfast in a 17th-century wing of the house. We have a large and wild garden and adjacent woodland that you are welcome to explore. Who we're looking for: * Positive attitude and willingness to help with daily tasks * Practically minded

What we need help with: We can always use help with the garden and surrounding woodland. Volunteer activities could include helping with our vegetable patch, vegetable beds, greenhouse and polytunnel. We have a large woodland where holiday guests can walk around, which occasionally needs path maintenance or help with planting trees. We also have a walled garden with various jobs to be done. There is often painting to be done, whether it's fences, gates, or internal rooms. We may also need a dog sitter at some point - Styx is very friendly and loves new meeting new people. Our caretaker lives onsite, and may also be able use some help with the pigs and chickens, however no experience is needed for this!
