500 acres of grazing, arable and woodland in West Aberdeenshire. We run a small herd of Aberdeen Angus and Highland cattle, a small flock of Welsh Badgerface sheep and a small herd of Mangalitza pigs. We also run two farmstay cottages on the property and will be venturing into glamping at some point in the near future. There is always masses to do on the farm, in the woods and in the gardens of the various houses on the property and whatever volunteer interest or expertise is brought, there will be something interesting and satisfying to participate in and either learn from or be able to pass skills on. Castleton of Asloun is a 400 year old house with the ruins of Asloun Castle in the gardens. Asloun is situated in the heart of Aberdeenshire castle country.

We are also on the lookout for anyone with construction, carpentry and related skills as there are a number of projects on the go, including but not limited to completing a glamping trailer, various buildings requiring repair etc.

There is much to do and see in the area. The Farm is on the castle trail with Craigievar castle just a few miles away and many other castles within easy reach. Some of Scotlands most famous distilleries are just a short drive away through some fantastic scenery. The village of Alford is worth a visit with the Grampian Transport Museum, The Alford Heritage Museum and Haughton Country Park a few of its attractions.
The map shows the approximate area. The exact location is shared once a stay is confirmed.
