Beautiful Somerset Camping & Glamping site

Key info:

  • 3-4hrs per day, 2 days off per week
  • Meals provided
  • Property maintenace, gardening, aniaml care and house-sitting
  • Somerset, england

Accomodation:

Get close to nature in a beautiful environment. Situated up a private track the 4 acre campsite is sandwiched between woodland and a sweeping valley, with far reaching views to the Severn Estuary and Wales. Peace, quiet, superb sunsets and dark nights. Campers can have hot showers whilst also cooking on an open fire. Our 200 year old house sits in the middle but away from it all. There are long walks over the rolling Mendips or short strolls to a number of proper Somerset pubs.

What we need help with:

We usually require help from March til October. Camping and Glamping is open from April to October.

  • campsites need checking for litter and firepits cleaning -paddocks, fields and paths need mowing. -veg patches, flower beds and orchard can always do with some attention -the Yurt needs cleaning after each booking has left -we need help with apple picking, juicing and cider making in late September to November.
  • we plan to paint the house and garage block this spring/summer -we also plan to develop a small vineyard(50 vines) this year -chickens need a bit of care and attention too.
  • house/pet sitting sometimes required You can usually choose what you want to do according to the time of the year.

What we are looking for:

Mostly its about a "can do" attitude and willingness to get things done whatever the weather or the happiness of the campers. Using a wheel barrow and a shovel are great skills but we can provide instruction with both. Gardening and camping skills are much appreciated but not essential. Laughing and getting dirty is essential
