This is a Victorian ex-waterworks/agricultural plot c.7 miles south of Glastonbury/north of Yeovil. Help needed with: overgrown Nature-friendly garden; general maintenance; some house-cleaning/organising, dog-sitting small rescue female JRT (nervous but affectionate after introduction) - a mix of the above appreciated. Accommodation is a 3-bedroom 1st floor flat in separate annexe, eat-in kitchen, eat-in sitting room, shower-room, central heating. Good broadband, parking (even for a campervan). It's rural/outside the village. You need transport (or driving licence/cycling ability at the very least) to get to the nearest town about 3 miles away as no reliable public transport. Station with a direct train line to London Paddington, Exeter , Bath etc. about 20 minutes away. As there are 3 bedrooms, one twin, 2 singles, it could suit friends or couples. Must be practical, capable, have initiative, some plant knowledge and be conversant with a spade, have a strong sense of responsibility and a good work ethic. Nature-nut preferred but at least active interest. You'd have privacy, rural views, peace and quiet (except for when the little dog is excited), access to table-tennis downstairs from flat. About 20-30 hours/week work average between 2 people, less or more according to how many of you there are.

The garden always needs weeding, planting, pruning (& watering during the new horrendously hot summers). It is mostly pollinator-friendly native perennials, herbs, grasses, roses etc. Fields may need use of a ride-on mower depending on your skills, or maybe hand-pulling of cattle-unfriendly weeds, but a grazier takes care of the cattle. There are often a few DIY needs around the place that may require the use of screwdriver, drill, spade, broom, energy, common sense etc., but don't need specialist skills (unless you have them!). We'd love mainly gardening/outdoor help from fit, active, dog-friendly, practical people with a can-do attitude &, preferably, an appreciation of Nature, as we bought the place solely to bring Nature back. It depends a bit what the volunteer/s has to offer - absolute essentials are common sense, can-do attitude, fitness, dog-friendliness, some plant knowledge, Nature awareness.
