About
The property sits in a peaceful setting backing onto a wood, with Red Squirrels often in attendance. Close to the amenities of Cowes and Newport, the farm is in an ideal location to relax and unwind whilst being close enough to walk/cycle along a disused railway into either towns. The house sits on a quiet private lane set back from the road, which leads down to a very old and pretty church; it is surrounded on all sides by our land and our alpacas. The main route into Newport is a short walk away and serviced by a regular and late running bus service.
We have a large garden with many different areas and outbuildings, including an outdoor BBQ and kitchen facility, stable yard and ranch.

Two double bedrooms at the top of the house offer light and spacious accommodation with views over the alpacas out to the solent. Both rooms have a comfortable double bed with bed linen and towels provided. There is plenty of storage for clothes and the larger room also has a desk under the window.

Meals
Volunteers will have use of a separate annexe kitchen with basic cooking facilities, microwave, fridge etc and a large gas oven and hob. There is also an outside kitchen with large gas BBQ. We can provide a basic breakfast and there is a well stocked larder for cooking essentials. We expect to cook at least one or two evening meals which we will share with our guests if they would like to and time allows.

Local area
There is so much to do on the Isle of Wight and nowhere is too far away! Carisbrooke Castle and Osbourne House are both very impressive English Heritage sites. Tennyson Down and the Needles offers good hiking and excellent views close to the beach at Freshwater. There are numerous music and theatre events and a thriving literary festival. Vast long beaches at Compton and Ryde offer fossil hunting and swimming opportunities along with plenty of water sports and of course sailing from Cowes!
